Culture and History

Gabriel Saury’s Chemin de Croix consists of terracotta-colored figures with a gray granite-like surface; each station depicts one to three figures. The Stations of the Cross was completed on September 14, 1949, and installed in the church. On January 20, 2022, the Chemin de Croix in Orchamps-Vennes was designated a protected object under heritage protection laws. The restored church of Orchamps-Vennes attracts numerous visitors with Gabriel Saury’s work.

The model cheese dairy of Orchamps-Vennes also reflects a clearly dated construction history: the plot was acquired in 1912, while the design provided for underground cellars and production rooms. The building was finally approved on November 10, 1915.
