Malbuisson: Holiday apartments and houses
Lac de Saint-Point is the third-largest natural lake in France. In Malbuisson, the lakeside beaches, paths through the countryside and various activities on the water are among the distinctive features of the town.
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Malbuisson can include this in their holiday planning.
Nature
A hiking trail for pedestrians, approximately 23 kilometres long, leads around Lac de Saint-Point. There are also four water sports centres around the lake, offering activities such as catamaran sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking and pedal boating. Bateaux du Lac Saint-Point offer one-hour guided sightseeing cruises; there is also a quiet trip between the lake’s right and left shores.
The beaches of Malbuisson are very easily accessible from the town centre. Plage des Landes is one of the two largest beaches in Malbuisson.
Activities
The 6-kilometre route “En revenant par le fort” is a hiking trail in summer and a marked snowshoe route in winter. For winter sports, the 14-kilometre La Fuvelle cross-country ski trail is also available. It is the largest cross-country ski trail in the surrounding area and is intended for experienced skiers.
The 8.3-kilometre hike to Fort de Saint-Antoine leads through the forests and meadows of the municipality of Malbuisson. During the hike, you can stop to discover the local fruitière for Comté cheese.
Culture
The Saint-Claude church stands on the right bank of Lac de Saint-Point. The present church was rebuilt in 1932–1933 according to plans by the architect Mognetti.
