Granges-Narboz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Étang des Granges-Narboz was created on former peatlands and is used by anglers; it is also significant for birds. The Étang des Granges-Narboz and the surrounding peat bogs are part of a Natura 2000 site. Peat bogs stretch along the Drugeon in Granges-Narboz, while the lower-lying area of the Frasne-Pontarlier plateau is often marshy.

Nature

The Laveron Massif in Granges-Narboz reaches an elevation of 1,026 metres. The Château de Joux can be seen from the Fauconnière area. Thus, the village landscape combines wetlands, the Laveron Massif and views of the Château de Joux.

Culture and History

The Sainte-Brigide parish church has a nave dating from the 17th century, a choir from around 1815 and a bell tower from 1867. The Chapelle Notre-Dame stands by the roadside between Granges Dessous and Granges-l’Église. It was built in 1879 by parish priest Frelet and his family.

Agriculture and Regional Products

The Ferme de l’Absinthe is a dairy farm in the Drugeon Valley within a Natura 2000 site. Milk is produced there and wormwood is cultivated. At the Ferme de l’Absinthe, visitors can tour the farm and experience milking; numerous hiking and mountain biking routes are also available.

The Route de l’Absinthe also showcases the local world of products: it lists the Distillerie Marguet-Champreux in Les Granges-Narboz as a participating distillery.

Routes

The Le Laveron Route No. 93 passes through Granges-Narboz. The Le Fort de Joux Route No. 80 also passes through the village; it is a 22.5-kilometre mountain biking circuit.

The Les Granges Dessus Route leads to the hamlet of Granges Dessus, which belongs to the municipality of Granges-Narboz.
