Château Montbéliard Wurtemberg stands on a rocky promontory above the city of Montbéliard.

Those who choose Montbéliard as a travel destination and wish to rent a holiday apartment consider their accommodation as an integral part of planning their stay.

Culture

The Hôtel Beurnier-Rossel, dating from 1772–1773, houses the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire of Montbéliard. The Temple Saint-Martin is also part of the city’s history: it is the oldest building in France built for Protestant worship that is still used for this purpose.

Outside the times reserved for worship, concerts, seminars, performances and conferences take place at the Temple Saint-Martin. Les Lumières de Noël in Montbéliard was launched in 1987 by the local merchants’ association, the tourist office, the festival committee and the city of Montbéliard.

Science and activity

In the Prés-la-Rose park, the Pavillon des sciences offers playful exhibitions and opportunities to experience natural sciences in a practical way; these activities are also aimed at tourists. There are also practical workshops and a Fab Lab for hands-on scientific activities.

The Parc de l'île en mouvement has a scientific discovery trail with games and information panels on the subject of the perception of movement.

Walking tours

The Heinrich-Schickhardt Trail begins at the tourist office on Rue Henri Mouhot. It is a 3 km circular route through the city and takes about 2 hours. As an architectural tour, it leads through the historic centre of Montbéliard and focuses on Renaissance works.

Nature and trails

The Parc du Près-la-Rose is home to a plant maze and is located on a peninsula between the Allan and the Rhône–Rhine Canal. The Parc de l'île en mouvement is a landscaped park with a natural appearance, intended for walking and biodiversity.

The reception point of the Office de Tourisme du Pays de Montbéliard in Montbéliard is located along the EuroVéloroute 6 and welcomes and provides information to boaters, cycle tourists and hikers.
