Around Rochejean, Alpages par les crêtes No. 77 follows more heavily wooded and playful trails. Route Les Meix No. 76 leads from the Doubs through Rochejean towards a wooded valley and crosses the Natura 2000 site Massif du Mont d'Or, du Noirmont et du Risol.

Cycling and Trails

Alpages par les crêtes No. 77 passes through Rochejean and is a 21.7 km, two-hour mountain-biking circuit. Les Meix No. 76 is an easy, 4.7 km, one-hour mountain-biking circuit; it starts and finishes at Les Meix Loisirs in Rochejean.

In winter, Les Meix Loisirs offers four downhill ski runs in the Baby, green, blue and red categories. In summer, Dévalkart is part of the activities available there. Hiking and mountain biking are listed as relevant activities in the Natura 2000 site Massif du Mont d'Or, du Noirmont et du Risol.

Culture and Crafts

The Église paroissiale Saint-Jean-Baptiste was built in the 15th century. Its bell tower is dated 1779. The church contains a statue known as the “Vierge à l'Enfant”, as well as three stained-glass windows depicting the apparition of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to Marguerite Alacoque, the Nativity and the Holy Family.

Terres des Meix is a workshop for traditional pottery and ceramics in an old farm above Rochejean. In its small boutique, Terres des Meix sells decorative and practical pottery and ceramic goods.

Farms and Regional Products

Ferme de la Batailleuse is recognised as an educational farm and offers self-guided visits and tastings. Ferme d’alpage de la Petite Echelle offers guided tours and walks with the shepherd on Mont d’Or. It also sells organic veal and pork to order, as well as eggs and seasonal vegetables.
