Since its opening in 2009, the Ferme Courbet in Flagey has been an independent cultural venue with numerous temporary exhibitions and events. It is an 18th-century farmhouse that once belonged to the family of painter Gustave Courbet and was restored as part of the “Pays de Courbet, pays d’artiste” cultural project.
The Ferme Courbet also houses the literary café “Le café de Juliette”, an exhibition space with two exhibitions per year, as well as a space for artistic workshops and events. The “Jeux d’exploration” at the Ferme Courbet comprise around three discovery games for families focusing on Juliette Courbet, Régis Courbet and the site of the family farm.
Nature
The garden of the Ferme Courbet in Flagey was reconstructed to resemble the appearance of the garden in the 19th century as closely as possible. The orchard next to the picnic area in the garden of the Ferme Courbet offers an opportunity to take a break before or after your visit.
