The “Vallées et fermes fortifiées” quiet route passes through Vaupillon.
Nature
Vaupillon is one of the municipalities included in the “Cuesta cénomanienne du Perche d'Eure-et-Loir” special protection area. This special protection area covers 350 ha and was designated by the founding decree of 13 April 2007.
Three Natura 2000 habitat types are listed in the Petit Moulin area of Vaupillon: hygrophilous tall-herb communities of the lowland and colline levels (6430), Atlantic acidophilous beech forests with holly and yew in the understorey (9120), and oak-hornbeam forests (9160).
Hiking and history
The “La Trinité des bois” circular hiking trail is 13.5 km long. It is recognised by the departmental hiking committee in Eure-et-Loir and marked in yellow.
The former parish encompassing Saint-Éliph, Vaupillon and La Loupe was named “La Trinité des Bois”. The 10 km La Loupe–Saint-Victor-de-Buthon hiking trail leads in the direction of the village of Vaupillon.
Farm and plants
Jardin Solstice is an organic micro-farm for aromatic and medicinal plants and operates according to the principles of Nature&Progrès. The farm shop offers herbal teas, cosmetics and personal care products made on the farm.
At Jardin Solstice, the garden and growing areas are freely accessible to visitors. By prior arrangement, Jardin Solstice offers guided group visits for 10 to 30 people at a flat rate of €50.
Culture
The Notre-Dame church in Vaupillon could be visited on Sunday, 21 September, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of European Heritage Days.
