Ermenonville-La-Petite: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Ermenonville-La-Petite lies north of the Beauce and east of the Perche, two natural regions in the Eure-et-Loir department.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Bartholomew was built between 1865 and 1870. Its bell tower collapsed during the storm of 26 December 1999, while the bell remained undamaged in the collapse. The faithful reconstruction of the bell tower was scheduled to take one year.

The statue of Saint Sebastian is a carved and polychrome-painted wooden work. On 27 March 2017, it was registered as a protected object.

Since 1793, the village has been known as “Ermenonville la petite”. Since 1801, the place name has been written as “Ermenonville-la-Petite”. In nearby Illiers-Combray, around 8 km away, is the Maison de Tante Léonie, the Marcel Proust Museum.

Hiking

The Chemin de ceinture leads around the village and offers a circular walk with views of an old washhouse, two old carriage mounting blocks and the Church of Saint Bartholomew.

In Ermenonville-la-Petite, the Comité des Fêtes offered public hiking events with several route lengths, including 6, 8 and 13 km as well as 6, 9 and 14 km.
