One starting point in Lanneray is the Église Saint-Pierre: it already existed in the 12th century and belonged to La Madeleine de Châteaudun Abbey. The restored vault resembles the inverted hull of a ship. This is where the “Autour de Bois Bertrand” circular trail begins; it is 11.1 km long and takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Culture and history

The Chapelle Saint-Pierre de Vouvray appears to date from the 12th century. It was built at the foot of the valley near the Loir to meet the needs of the inhabitants.

The Château de la Touche Hersant is listed as a historic monument. Visitors can view the moats and towers there; only the exterior areas are open to visitors.

Nature

The Jardin de la Duchaylatière consists of several gardens that offer a variety of facets throughout the year. The plant collections include hydrangeas, rhododendrons and azaleas.
