Thiron Gardais: Vacation Rentals and Holiday Homes

The Grange aux Dîmes is located on the Domaine de l’Abbaye. The abbey’s monks built it in the 15th century to store in-kind payments from the tithe.

Culture and History

The Sainte-Trinité Abbey Church dates from the early 12th century. Its Romanesque nave is 64 metres long and 12 metres wide. A visit to the Collège royal et militaire includes the museum and the garden, but not Stéphane Bern’s private home.

Both self-guided and guided tours are available at the Domaine de l’Abbaye. The historic garden of the Collège royal et militaire was redesigned to restore its former harmony and balance.

Gardens and Trails

The gardens of the Domaine de l’Abbaye cover four hectares and include a kitchen garden, a rose garden, fruit trees and heather beds. The circular trail “L’abbaye de Thiron-Gardais” passes through woodland and along the edge of agricultural land.

Thiron-Gardais lies on the Véloscénie between Paris and Mont-Saint-Michel. The circular trail “Doux plateaux et premiers reliefs du Perche” follows picturesque roads along the edge of the forest and through fields. Thanks to its pleasant, gently undulating terrain, it is suitable for families.

The Étang des Moines is a place for camping, fishing and walking.

Special Experiences

The Domaine de l’Abbaye has three escape game rooms. The Cel’Tiron Festival takes place every two years and celebrates the close ties between Thiron-Gardais and the Celtic countries.
