Beauche: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Beauche can be discovered through its historic traces and paths: An old Roman road from Paris toward Mortagne runs through the town, and the Église Saint-Martin de Beauche has been documented since 1090.

Culture and History

The old Roman road was still in use in the 17th century, before the RN 12 was built. The Église Saint-Martin de Beauche was extended with two side aisles in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. It houses remarkable 18th-century liturgical furnishings, including the high altar, a communion rail, and elegant parquet flooring with inlay work; all are protected as historic monuments.

The religious tradition includes the oratory dedicated to Saint Sebastian, which was intended to protect livestock from infectious diseases and the plague. The name “Mariette” recalls the gratitude of believers to the Virgin Mary for answered prayers. Concerts take place in the church of Beauche at least twice a year.

Paths and Landscape

In the town center and throughout the municipality of Beauche, there are walking and cycling paths that make it possible to discover the local cultural heritage.

The “Boucle de Beauche” circular hiking trail leads through fields and forests and around the Château du Boulay Saint-Clair. There is a car park for this circular trail on Rue Saint-Martin, near the cemetery.
