La Puisaye: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In La Puisaye, the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste stands near the site of a former castle, which has since been destroyed. On the gable above the porch is a polychrome stone sculpture of John the Baptist with a lamb; it was installed in the 18th century and restored in the 20th century. The church also preserves two remarkable old tomb slabs, which were classified as historic monuments in 1908.

Water and Landscape

The Étang de Rouge in La Puisaye is a 7-hectare pond. It was created by monks around the 13th century. Today, the Étang de Rouge is a fishing destination for carp anglers.

Culture and Trails

The Lavoir de La Puisaye was built between 1912 and 1922 and provided space for 12 washerwomen. For walks and hikes, La Puisaye offers the signposted La Haute Giboudiere route as well as the likewise signposted Bois des Scouts hiking trail.

The Château de La Ferté-Vidame lies in the immediate surroundings of La Puisaye as a ruin. The Église Saint-Nicolas is also located nearby. The Église de la Madeleine is located in the surrounding area, while the Abbaye de la Trappe is situated farther afield in the wider region as an abbey.
