Courtalain: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de Courtalain was built in 1483 by Guillaume d’Avaugour; its construction took place at the end of the 15th and beginning of the 16th centuries. It was remodelled at the beginning of the 19th century. Its architecture combines medieval and Renaissance architecture with neo-medieval extensions from the 19th century.

Culture and History

A guided tour of the Château de Courtalain includes the exterior areas with the château, park and outbuildings. The interior areas include, among others, the orangery and the grand staircase. The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Courtalain originated from the chapel of the Château de Courtalain.
