Thénioux: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In Thénioux, cultural history and routes along the water come together.
Culture
The “Courage-Liberté” monument in Thénioux was inaugurated on 24 May 1997. A monument is dedicated to the passeurs who helped people cross the demarcation line.
Near Thénioux, the Cher formed the demarcation line crossed by escaped prisoners, people in hiding, Maquisards, resistance fighters and others fighting underground. Raymond Toupet and his brother Marcellin established an escape network that took numerous people in hiding across the Cher by boat at night.
