Allogny can be discovered through historical evidence and specific natural attractions. The village church and parish are documented as early as 855, while the Forêt domaniale d’Allogny forms a second focal point with its springs, pond, and several paths.

History and religious heritage

The church of Allogny was rebuilt at its present location at the beginning of the 13th century. The Saint-Sulpice spring is also documented for the year 1287. It was a site of processions and pilgrimages; its water was believed to have healing properties, particularly for headaches.

The statue of Saint Solange is also part of the historical heritage. It was registered as a protected object on 5 March 1980.

Nature and paths

The Forêt domaniale d’Allogny is a managed state forest with a planned area of 2,350 ha. The Fontaine au Verdier, a popular walking destination, is located in this forest. The pond also has its own path: a path created by the Communauté de communes des Terres du Haut Berry leads around it.

Further paths provide access to the landscape with routes of varying lengths. A 5 km path leads from the pond through the forest to the spring. An 11.2 km path created by the Communauté de communes des Terres du Haut Berry passes by the spring. An 8 km hiking trail starts at Parking MAB, and a 3 km circular path for exploring the surroundings of Allogny begins at the town hall.

Community life

Allogny has participated in the travelling cinema programme since 2006. A film screening takes place in the municipality once a month on a Tuesday.
