Culture and history

The Château de la Morinais was the seat of a former seigneurie and is recorded in the 1824 cadastral register.

The Vierge à l'Enfant statue depicts an upright-standing Virgin carrying the Child on her right arm and trampling a dragon on a crescent moon. The listed grounds around the Chapelle Saint-Barthélemy include a Gallic stele from the Iron Age in their cemetery. In the Chapelle Saint-Joseph, a slate floor, a wooden altar and a very old baptismal font have been preserved.

Nature and activities

The Chapelle Saint-Marc stands on a ridge above the Oust Valley. The Circuit de Saint-Marc (n°30) starts at the car park of the Pleucadeuc town hall, 5 Avenue des Sports, and is specified as having a length of 22.0 km. It can be completed on foot, by mountain bike and on horseback; all three variants are classified as moderately difficult and are listed as taking 5 hours, 2 hours 30 minutes and 4 hours, respectively.

Geographical setting

The Menhir de Ranion, a prehistoric site, is located in the vicinity of Pleucadeuc. The Château de Rochefort-en-terre, a castle, is located in the area around Pleucadeuc. In the wider regional area around Pleucadeuc are the Menhirs Babouin et Babouine, a historic site, as well as the Dolmen de Roherman dit "Niche à Gabineau", a prehistoric site.

Traditions

The Fête des jumeaux, triplés et plus is held in Pleucadeuc every 15 August.
