Colpo is a stopover town on the European Cultural Route “Destination Napoléon”, which was recognised by the Council of Europe in 2015. The landscape around Colpo in the Landes de Lanvaux combines gentle hills on a granite base with bocage hedgerows, forests and rivers.

Culture and History

An interpretation trail through Colpo town centre introduces visitors to the stages and buildings associated with the town’s Napoleonic foundation. The “Espace Napoleone” association also offers guided tours of Colpo’s Napoleonic heritage.

The Notre-Dame de Kerdroguen Chapel dates back to the 16th century and has been listed as a historic monument since 1946. Its interior contains an altarpiece and two remarkable polychrome wooden statues.

Older evidence of the area’s history can also be found in the townscape: the Larcuste site consists of two cairns, one of which contains two passage dolmens. The Allée couverte de Kerjagu still has a single capstone and was excavated by Abbé Le Méné in 1884.

Hiking and Nature

The long-distance GR38 hiking trail is one of the routes available in Colpo. The Bois Chohan can be explored via signposted paths and is protected under a European directive on the conservation of habitats.

The undergrowth of the Chohan and Treulan forests can also be explored via hiking trails.

Transport Connections

Public buses operate from Colpo, with numerous daily connections to Vannes and Saint-Brieuc; the bus station is located on Place Villa Vicentina.
