Guidel has a network of almost 110 km of hiking trails and footpaths.

Nature and Trails

The Réserve Naturelle Régionale des étangs du Loc’h is a remarkable wetland, designated as a Natura 2000 site and recognised as an Espace Remarquable de Bretagne. The nature reserve has a 10 km educational trail with information boards and two observation points. Among other things, nesting birds can be spotted there.

The Étang de Lannénec also represents Guidel’s species-rich landscape: numerous plant and animal species have been recorded here, including 150 bird species, some of which are protected.

For cycling, there is the moderately difficult cycle route “Guidel à vélo côté campagne”. The 11.5 km route starts at Guidel church.

Coast and Water

At Plage du Loch, the regular and beautiful waves have given the beach a good reputation among surfers. Plage du Fort-Bloqué in Guidel is a recognised kitesurfing spot that offers an impressive spectacle when conditions are suitable.

The crossing of the Laïta between Le Pouldu and Guidel is offered by the company Laïta Croisières from the beautiful days of spring onwards.

History and Textiles

The Chapelle Saint-Matthieu in Guidel was built in 1487 and is listed in the register of Monuments Historiques. Fort du Loc’h is a military installation whose construction began in 1756 and which houses exhibitions on nature and the environment.

At the Le Minor factory outlet, the Musée de la Marinière is free of charge and open to everyone. It tells the story of the marinière, from an outsider garment to a French fashion icon.

At Maison Le Minor, visitors can book guided tours of the production workshops. The company has maintained a Breton textile tradition since 1922.
