The Valvert area is now a wetland and natural setting suitable for relaxation, walking, and leisure activities.

Nature and Trails

As part of its ecological enhancement, boardwalks and a bird-watching post have been installed in the Valvert wetland. Valvert also offers three adventure courses for children aged 4 and over, as well as sports equipment for outdoor physical activities.

The circular trail “Sur les Traces de Sainte-Noyale” begins at the car park of the Maison de Maître on Rue Le Strat. The “Sur les traces de sainte Noyale” route is 9.5 km long, takes 2 hours and 30 minutes, and has a medium difficulty level.

Sacred Sites

The Chapelle Sainte-Noyale dates from the 15th century and was remodeled in its upper section in the 16th century. Its painted wooden paneling from the 17th century depicts the life of Saint Noyale. The Chapelle Sainte-Noyale complex has been classified as a Historic Monument since May 19, 1965. It comprises a chapel, an oratory dedicated to Saint Jean, a calvary cross, a fountain, and a churchyard.

The Chapelle Sainte-Barbe is a flamboyant-style building from the 15th century and has been classified as a Historic Monument since 2018. Eight paintings on its wooden paneling depict scenes from the lives of Sainte-Barbe and Sainte-Noyale.

The Église Sainte-Noyale was rebuilt in the 15th century and has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1927. Inside is a statue of the Ankou, a central figure in Breton legends of the dead.

Les Trois Fontaines were restored in 1818; one of the associated crosses bears the year 1600.

History Reflected in the Village

The Manoir du Verger dates from the 17th century. It was built in place of Noyal’s former castle, known as “La Motte,” and was later occupied by officers of the Compagnie des Indes.

The Petite Sainte-Noyale chapel dates from the 18th century. Its entrance is located outside the enclosure of the former rectory and provides access.

Green Spaces and Notable Trees

Parc du Coguen was created in 2010 on 2.50 hectares in the village center and is used by families. The Rescourio English oak is estimated to be 400 years old. Its spread is 10 m, as is its height; it also has a hollow, arched trunk.
