La Gacilly: Holiday Apartments and Houses
La Gacilly brings photography out of the exhibition space and into the open air: the Photo La Gacilly Festival was launched in 2004 and offers an immersive experience on foot through around twenty open-air galleries.
Cultural Sites
The Musée Immersif Yves Rocher in La Gacilly presents the history, expertise and committed values of the Yves Rocher brand in a dynamic, multisensory tour through five rooms. The visit lasts 45 minutes; tours begin every 15 minutes.
At the Cité des Métiers d’art in La Gacilly, visitors can watch sculptors, potters, jewellery designers, coppersmiths and glassblowers at work in workshops along the descent to the Aff. La Gacilly’s preserved rural heritage also includes the Menhir de la Roche Piquée.
The surrounding area is also home to cultural and historical sites with various connections to La Gacilly: the Château de la Ville Quéno is a castle in the vicinity, while the Chapelle Saint-Jacques is a church nearby. The Château de Rochefort-en-terre is a castle in the wider region, while the Abbatiale Saint-Sauveur de Redon is a historic site in the surrounding area.
Nature
The Jardin Botanique Yves Rocher was established in 1975 and covers 2 hectares in La Gacilly. The Observatoire de la biodiversité is located on an 8-hectare site in La Gacilly. Visitors can discover more than 300 animal and plant species there; the observatory also has an ornithological hide from which local birds can be observed unobtrusively.
Nature en Fête is also one of the nature activities. The programme consists of free nature events organised throughout the year.
