The Chapelle Saint-Yves is the largest chapel in Lignol. Its original rectangular structure was built in the 15th century. Inside, carved beams adorn the two chapels; geometric motifs are combined with legendary figures and fantastic animals.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul features a 17th-century altarpiece whose niches house statues of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. It is believed to have been built in the 15th century and was extensively remodelled in the 16th, 17th and 19th centuries.

The Chapelle Saint-Nicolas in Saint-Hervezen in Lignol was rebuilt in the 17th century, reusing numerous structural elements from a predecessor building documented as early as 1418. Two fountains associated with this chapel are located below the road.

The Manoir, Le Pou in Lignol is a manor house dating from the mid-17th century. It includes a 17th-century fountain.

The Château du Coscro is a Neoclassical work by the Lantivy parliamentary family dating from the 17th century. Restoration, ongoing since 1984, has made it possible to restore the original garden. The grounds can only be visited during part of the year.

Trails

The Circuit de Marie Chon passes through the countryside around Lignol to the village of Saint-Yves, where there is a 16th-century chapel. The circular route also passes the ruins of the home of the legendary Marie Chon.
