Langoëlan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In Langoëlan, the surviving religious heritage dates from the late 15th to the 17th century. It is complemented by the Circuit de Coëtcodu and the Étang du Dordu, with its nature-related activities.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Barnabé dates from the 16th century, is built of granite in the Gothic style, and has the form of a Latin cross. Inside, it contains a wooden altarpiece from the 17th century.
The Chapelle de la Trinité preserves its original painted stone altar, a chancel screen with turned balusters from the 17th century, and numerous statues. The Chapelle de la Trinité in Quénépévan dates from the late 15th or early 16th century and has an ornate south portal characteristic of Breton Flamboyant Gothic.
The Moulin du Paradis preserves its original architecture, mechanism, one of its wheels, and its millstones. The Chapelle Saint-Houarno is one of three chapels dating from the late 15th or early 16th century that have been preserved in Langoëlan, and is an example of a rural Flamboyant Gothic chapel. It contains an exceptional 16th-century Eucharistic tabernacle, classified as a historic monument.
The Chapelle Saint-Servais stands between the villages of Cauraden and Kergoët in Langoëlan. It dates from the late 16th century and is dedicated to Saint Servais and Saint Efflam. The Pardon in honour of Saint Barnabé is held on the fourth Sunday in June.
Hiking and Nature
The Circuit de Coëtcodu is a walking trail that begins in Langoëlan. It is designated as an easy, 11-kilometre hike lasting 2 hours and 45 minutes. The yellow-marked circular route leads to a medieval motte.
At the Étang du Dordu, there is a nature trail with information panels about aquatic fauna and flora. Fishing for carp and pike is possible at the Étang du Dordu.
