Camoël: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Camoël lies on the southern shore of the Vilaine estuary. Signposted paths lead through forests and along the Vilaine to the estuary, through wooded areas and to sites of local cultural heritage.

Landscape

Cultural landscapes are strongly represented in Camoël’s natural heritage. The municipality has extensive wooded areas and a dense bocage network, particularly in the north. There are also coastal salt marshes there.

The Atlas de Biodiversité Communale lists 59 breeding species of diurnal birds in Camoël, including 23 species of conservation value.

Paths and Water

The GR 39 makes it possible to explore the banks of the Vilaine between Camoël and La Roche-Bernard. Another prominent link to the water is the Port d'Arzal-Camoël, which lies on both the Arzal and Camoël banks.

A large lock downstream at the Port d'Arzal-Camoël allows boats to pass through the dam. The port is accessible at all times to boats with a draft of less than 3 m.

Culture

The Église Saint Martin was built in the Gothic style from 1877 onwards and received elaborate stained-glass windows in 1957. The Notre Dame de La Salette chapel was blessed on 21 May 1714 and restored in 1851.

Vieille Roche is a picturesque village with distinctive houses.
