Merlevenez: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Merlevenez features a hilly landscape with bocage hedgerows and cultivated land. Four streams cross Merlevenez; Kermorvant offers panoramic views over the Lorient roadstead.

Culture and History

At the eastern entrance to Merlevenez, on the road to Port-Louis, stands the Chapelle de la Madeleine, built in the 17th century. It consists of a single nave, illuminated by two windows on the south side.

The Fontaine Maria, also known as the Fontaine de Kergornet, was built in 1729. It features curved baluster pillars supporting a curved dome.

The parish church of Merlevenez is dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-Joie. Its main construction phases date from the last quarter of the 11th century and from the 12th century.

The hiking, cycling and horse-riding trails of the Blavet Bellevue Océan Communauté pass through varied landscapes and a protected natural environment.

The D9 and D170 departmental roads connect the coast at Plouhinec and Etel with the RN165 towards Hennebont.
