Gourin: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Every year, Gourin hosts the Brittany Championship of traditional music and traditional dance. This recurring cultural event takes place alongside historic buildings, Tronjoly Park and paths through the countryside.

Culture

The Château de Tronjoly is an elegant 18th-century manor house. The Domaine de Tronjoly hosts large public or private events as well as various exhibitions in summer. The park of the Château de Tronjoly is open free of charge all year round; an open-air theatre is located in the Parc de Tronjoly just a few steps from the château. Visitors can explore the Parc de Tronjoly via numerous landscaped paths, bridges over picturesque streams and several trails.

History

The Allée couverte de Minguionnet in Gourin has been classified as a historic monument since 1970. The Chapelle Saint-Nicolas was built between 1500 and 1550 and is considered the highest and most extensively sculpted chapel in the Pays de Gourin. The Chapelle Saint-Hervé was built between 1518 and 1536 and is considered an example of Breton Renaissance architecture. The Chapelle Notre-Dame des Victoires was built in 1509 and rebuilt and extended in 1830.

The replica of the Statue of Liberty in Gourin commemorates the emigration of Gourin's inhabitants to America.

Nature

The Montagnes Noires rise above the town of Gourin. The GR 38 runs between Gourin and Le Faouët along the southern slope of the Montagnes Noires. The Circuit des carrières passes by still-visible traces of former slate quarries.

Voie verte No. 7 can be used on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. It follows a 19-kilometre non-motorised route between Gourin and Guiscriff.
