Questembert: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Questembert showcases its history in a distinctive form: the Halles de Questembert are a half-timbered oak market hall dating from 1675. By decree of 1 September 1922, they were classified as a historic monument.

Culture and History

The religious buildings also give the town a historic character. The Chapelle Saint-Jean was founded in the 12th century by the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem. The Chapelle Saint-Michel is a 15th-century chapel and is classified as a historic monument. Following its restoration in 2007/2008, it is occasionally open to the public, for example for concerts and themed days.

The Hôtel Belmont dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. Its surviving distinctive features include an original tower at the rear with a curved double roof and two wooden caryatids. The Moulin de Lançay has been listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments since 2003, due to its technical equipment and its illustration of various milling systems.

On the last weekend in August, the Inopiné Festival marks the end of the summer programme. It includes art installations in public spaces, concerts, performances and other events in Questembert.

Trails and Landscapes

The Sentier des Popinettes is 13 km long and is suitable for walkers and mountain bikers. It runs from near the town centre to the Chapelle Saint-Jean, following the Cohignac stream along the way. The landscape is characterised by embankments and copses; in spring, asphodels can be seen there.

The trails in the Bois Saint-Martin are located near the town centre in the Tohon Valley. The Bois-Saint-Martin trail is 4 km long and is suitable for exploring with the family. Access to the Voie Verte is at the Bel-Air roundabout on the Vannes–Redon road, 3 km from the town centre. The Voie Verte between Mauron and Questembert has a smooth asphalt surface and is suitable for cycling and roller skating.

The landscaped grounds of the Moulin de Lançay include wet meadows, streams, cascades, slope meadows, a reforested heath and rocky steep slopes. They have been developed for walks and exploration.

Experiences in Questembert

Quest’as trouvé offers an indoor escape game in Questembert. Players try to escape from a themed room within 60 minutes.

Mission Résistance is available year-round and lasts around two hours over a route of approximately 2.5 kilometres. This playful outdoor experience leads through the streets and squares of Questembert and is played with an unusual vehicle and a game booklet.

The Questembert Aquatic Centre has a sports pool, a leisure pool, a slide and a wellness area.
