Le Saint: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Le Saint Pitô is a cultural venue in the municipality of Le Saint. Under its circus tent, Le Saint Pitô offers equestrian shows, theatre, cabaret and concerts.

Culture and History

The Chapelle et Grotte de Notre-Dame de Lourdes includes a chapel whose construction was completed in July 1891. The Lourdes grotto in Le Saint was built in 1876 as a replica of the Grotto of Massabielle.

The Église Saint-Samuel bears the date 1575. It contains a wooden group from the 16th century depicting Saint Anne, the Virgin Mary and the Child. The furnishings also include carved roof beams featuring so-called heraldic lions.

The devotional fountain at the Chapelle Saint-Méen dates from 1615 and is located 200 metres east of the chapel. The Fontaine Saint-Samuel is situated at the exit from the village towards Guiscriff and was probably built in the 17th century.

The Chapelle Saint-Gilles belonged to the priory of Pont-Priant, founded in 1108 by a viscount of Poher, and at that time served as a refuge for pilgrims and the sick. Around 1129, the priory was transferred by Tanguy I, Viscount of Gourin, to the Sainte-Croix de Quimperlé Abbey.

In the surroundings of Le Saint are the Chapelle Sainte-Barbe and Chapelle Saint-Fiacre, both recorded as churches. In the wider regional surroundings of Le Saint lies the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Langonnet, recorded as a historic site. The Château de Trévarez, recorded as a château, is also located in this wider regional area.

The horse-riding tour Découverte de Le Saint à cheval leads through sunken lanes that were formerly used by carts. Fishing takes place on the Ster-Laër; the river is known for its diversity of wild brown trout.
