La Chapelle-Neuve: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the Floranges Forest lies the Dolmen du Roh-Du, which dates back to the 4th millennium BC and is classified as a historic monument.

Culture and History

The church of La Chapelle-Neuve is also classified as a historic monument. Its polygonal choir was built in the first quarter of the 16th century, and Renaissance motifs can be seen on the door frames. In their fiefdom of Plumelin, the lords of Rohan built a new chapel, Notre-Dame de la Fosse, which was rebuilt at the end of the 16th century.

The Chapelle de Locmaria has the floor plan of a Latin cross. A Pardon pilgrimage celebration takes place there every summer. The Calvary of the Chapelle de Locmaria features a sculpted group, which is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.

Trails and Landscape

The Circuit du Goyerdon is a one-hour hike in the centre of the municipality of La Chapelle-Neuve and runs along the edge of the forest. The route starts at the car park in the village of Kervolanec. Trout and salmon live in the Goyerdon stream. The tributary of the Tarun winds through a deeply incised valley, revealing numerous rock formations along its course.

Access to the Dolmen du Roh-Du is signposted from the centre of La Chapelle-Neuve. The Circuit du Goyerdon is located near the Dolmen du Roh-Du; an 800 m detour leads to it. The Circuit du Roh-Du hiking route is 12 km long, takes approximately three hours and has a moderate level of difficulty. It leads to the Fontaine Notre-Dame de la Fosse.
