Guéhenno: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Guéhenno draws attention to the Calvaire de Guéhenno: it is the only monumental calvary in Morbihan. Built in 1550, it was almost completely destroyed during the Revolution and restored in 1853 by Abbé Jacquot.

Culture

The Chapelle St Michel probably dates from the 15th century and is located in the hamlet of Le Mont in Guéhenno. The chapel, situated at an altitude of 147 metres, offers views across the landscape; on a clear day, Brocéliande can be glimpsed in the distance.

The Croix du Mont, a remarkable Merovingian cross, stands on the Le Mont site. The Croix aux Biques is another visible cross on Mont. A former windmill, recently restored, is also located near the Chapelle Saint-Michel.

The granite interpretation trail in Guéhenno begins in the village square and leads through the village and to its granite in eight stages.

History

The Manoir de Lemay was built in the 16th century and has a dovecote.

Events

The Pardon de la Saint Michel takes place every year on the third Sunday in September at the chapel. This is followed by a communal meal. Musical performances organised by Les Amis du Mont also take place as part of the Pardon de la Saint Michel.

Visits

Free guided tours of the Calvaire de Guéhenno are offered from mid-June to mid-September, Tuesday to Sunday.
