The Circuit des Coteaux de Vilaine circular trail is just over 8 kilometres long, leads from Lantiern to the Vilaine and passes mills on the hillsides. The Circuit de l’Estuaire is around 10.5 kilometres long, runs around Bourgerelle and via Moustoir, and offers a remarkable panorama of the Vilaine estuary.

The Cosca botanical loop is 2.5 kilometres long and features remarkable landscape diversity. It leads through a sunken lane, an orchard, heathland, a marsh, former salt meadows and a forest. Arzal also has three interconnected footpaths along which visitors can discover mills, bread ovens, crosses, wells, thatched-roof houses and varied landscapes. A 33-kilometre route crosses the municipality in two loops starting from Lantiern – a western loop of 18.5 kilometres and an eastern loop of 14 kilometres.

On the banks of the estuary in Arzal, visitors can enjoy beautiful views; the light at sunrise and sunset is particularly noteworthy.

Water

The Barrage d’Arzal is approximately 500 metres long, has five gates and features a lock connecting the river with the sea. Visitors can watch vessels pass through the lock, walk along the water and observe fish migration there. The Port d’Arzal-Camoël enables navigation on the Vilaine in fresh water and at sea. From Arzal, Les Vedettes Jaunes offers sightseeing cruises on the Vilaine.

History and culture

The Moulin de Séréac is a windmill built in 1653 for flour production and remained in operation until 1950. A chapel has been listed as a historic monument since 16 June 1964.
