Culture and History

The Château du Tiercent is an elegant 17th-century manor house built under Gilles Ruellan. The Saint-Martin Church was formerly the chapel of the château and was restored in 2014; its nave dates partly from the 12th century and was modified in the 15th and 16th centuries.

The remains of the château in Le Tiercent were listed as a historic monument by decree dated 15 December 1926. Around Le Tiercent are Fougères Castle, Our Lady Gate, Nichot Tower and Papegaud Tower; all four are historic sites. In the wider region surrounding Le Tiercent is Jardin du Parc, a garden.

The programme for Saturday the 19th includes a nature walk as part of the biodiversity atlas of Couesnon Marches de Bretagne, as well as a guided tour of Saint-Martin Church led by Père Roger Blot.

Nature and Trails

Le Tiercent has a well-preserved bocage landscape throughout its municipal territory. The Le Tour des Carrières circular trail passes through heathland, along old paths bordered by dry-stone walls, through villages and along the edges of abandoned quarries.

The leisure area on the Minette River has public toilets and picnic tables.
