Châteaubourg: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Châteaubourg, the permanent educational Parcours des Sculpteurs leads through the town as a sculpture trail. Along almost 3 km, 30 panels provide information about the origins of sculpture, artistic movements, forms, materials and techniques, as well as portraits of artists.

Art and History

At Parc d’Ar Milin’, the Les Entrepreneurs Mécènes association organises a sculpture exhibition every year. The church in Châteaubourg, built by Arthur Regnault in 1893, is listed as a historic monument.

Nature and Trails

The Forêt de la Corbière is a 630-hectare departmental nature area extending across Châteaubourg, La Bouëxière, Marpiré and Saint-Jean-sur-Vilaine. It can be explored on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback.

A 3.6 km circular discovery trail in the Forêt de la Corbière leads directly to a pond and its dam near a former mill. Located in the centre of Châteaubourg, Parc Pasteur is bordered by the Vilaine.

Vélo-Promenade route no. 5, “Les moulins”, passes through landscapes featuring woodland, a pond and waterways.

Water

Chateaubourg Canoë Kayak offers leisure activities by kayak on rivers, on calm and white water, and at sea, as well as canoe polo and introductions to other paddle sports.

Faith and Remembrance

The Chapelle Sainte-Anne in Châteaubourg was built following a vow made during the Second World War and completed in 1947. The annual pilgrimage takes place on the Sunday closest to 26 July; a procession is followed by an outdoor Mass at the chapel.

Châteaubourg has held the “Village Étape” designation since January 2020; along the road, signs point to local shops and services.
