Nature

The Langazel wetland lies at the junction of the municipalities of Trémaouézan, Ploudaniel and Plouédern and is one of the main sources of the coastal river Aber-Wrac’h.

Plage Boutrouilles is located in the surroundings of Ploudaniel and is considered a beach. Plage du Moulin Blanc and Plage Sainte-Marguerite are located in the wider regional surroundings of Ploudaniel and are considered beaches. Île Kerlouan is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Ploudaniel; it is considered an island.

History

The façades and roofs of Château de Trébodennic have been protected as historic monuments under a decree dated 10 June 1932. The Sainte-Pétronille Chapel was built in 1588 on the site of an older oratory.

The Ploudaniel-Lesneven German military cemetery is located about three kilometres from Ploudaniel and is divided into 14 sections; two main paths lead to the central memorial.

Culture

The Saint-Éloi Chapel has seven stained-glass windows depicting the life of Saint Eloi. According to tradition, owners bring their animal on pilgrimage to the Pardon of Saint-Éloi and place horsehair in front of the altar to protect the mount.

“The Marquis’ Fantasy” stands at the entrance to the park. The work “La Fantaisie du Marquis” by Jean-Marc Nicolas is located in Ploudaniel.
