Le Tréhou: Holiday apartments and houses

Le Tréhou lies between the Rade de Brest and the Monts d’Arrée. Roc'h-Gad is the highest point in Le Tréhou and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Monts d’Arrée.

Landscape and trails

Le Tréhou has numerous hiking trails that run alongside forests and streams. These trails are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. The Circuit de Roc'h Gad passes through a wooded section with some changes in elevation.

Culture and history

The calvary in the centre of Le Tréhou dates mainly from the 16th century. The calvary of Le Tréhou, dating from 1578, depicts Mary Magdalene and the twelve apostles as bas-reliefs on the base. It has been listed as a Monument historique since 18 October 1926.

The Sainte-Pitère church has a Léonard-style bell tower with two galleries and a double dome with two lantern turrets. Three 17th-century altarpieces have been preserved in the church; the roof beams are carved with decorative motifs and scenes from everyday life.

The Kanndi de Ty Ruz is a washing or laundry facility dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Its walls are fully preserved, and there are also traces of a slate roof. The Kanndi has a basin edged with large slate slabs, as well as a nearby spring surround made of dressed granite.

The Kanndi de Guesman dates from the 17th and 18th centuries, is made of rubble stone and survives only as a remnant. It is located near a path.

Everyday life and context

In the centre of the village, directly next to the town hall, is Le Tréhou’s communal bread oven. It was used by residents to bake bread and also served as an important meeting place.

In the Pays de Landerneau-Daoulas, Le Tréhou belongs to a group of places with parish districts that visitors can explore.
