Culture and history
The Sainte-Edwette Chapel stands by the sea in the historic municipal territory of Esquibien, south of the village of Landrevet. The present building dates from 1743; the chapel is dedicated to Saint Edwette, who is regarded as the protector of fishermen in Audierne Bay.
Next to the chapel stands a small Gallic stele with a square cross-section, into which two crosses have been engraved. The west gable and the chapel’s bell tower were restored in 1770.
The Sainte-Brigitte Chapel is located in a wooded valley south of the village of Landugentel. According to a traditional account, it was moved in 1651 from Lanuign in Beuzec-Cap-Sizun to Traon-Lannugentel in Esquibien.
