Mespaul: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Mespaul combines tangible historical evidence with a circular walk through open fields. The ossuary of Vieux-Bourg is the only surviving element of the former parish complex and dates from the 16th–17th century. It has been listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments since 1997.

Culture and history

The Chapelle Sainte-Catherine was built in the 15th century on the initiative of the lords of Créach-Quéraut, rebuilt in the 18th century and restored in 1895. It has a carved oak altar dating from 1706.

The Calvary of Sainte-Catherine dates from the 16th century, is classified as a historic monument and was restored by Yann Larhantec. Arranged in pairs, its statues depict the Virgin Mary, Saint Peter, Saint John, Saint James, Saint Mary Magdalene and a Pietà.

The Calvary of Croas Ar Vossen in La Garenne dates from 1626 and was restored in 1903. Its base features a skull and carved faces that recall the plague.

Hiking

Near Mespaul in the Finistère department, there is a 5.0-kilometre circular hiking route. It is generally considered easy and takes an average of about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The hiking route is accessible year-round and leads through open fields.
