Lanhouarneau: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Lanhouarneau, the parish church of Saint-Hervé brings together architectural elements from several periods. The bell tower porch and the choir date from the transition between the 14th and 15th centuries. The southern porch bears the date 1582, while the transept and nave were rebuilt or renovated from 1766 onwards.

Culture and History

Lanhouarneau is believed to have been founded in the 6th century, after Saint Hervé arrived there and spent a large part of his life there. The Saint-Hervé fountain is part of Lanhouarneau’s municipal heritage and is listed in the inventory of historic monuments.

Lanhouarneau celebrates its patron saint, Saint Hervé, on 17 June; religious and secular events share the day.

Trails and Events

Lanhouarneau offers various developed and signposted circular routes for walkers, runners, mountain bikers and horse riders. The Les Amis Randonneurs association maintains and promotes the trails of the municipality of Lanhouarneau.

The “Rando au clair de lune” hike is scheduled for June and covers 10 km. “Tous au bois” is planned as a popular festival in the Bois de la Salle at the beginning of September. The “Trail de la vallée des moulins” is scheduled for a Sunday morning in November.
