Culture and History

The Chapelle de Sainte-Marine was built in the 16th century. The chapel features historic furnishings with statues, contemporary stained-glass windows, and maritime votive offerings. The Pardon de Sainte-Marine is celebrated every year on the second Sunday in July with a procession to the landing stage and a blessing of the sea.

The Église Saint-Tugdual was built between the 14th and 18th centuries. Its lantern turret was rebuilt in 1774 after the bell tower had been demolished on the orders of Louis XIV as part of the reprisals following the Bonnets rouges uprising.

The Fort de Sainte-Marine was built in 1862 under Napoleon III. From June to September, it hosts exhibitions of contemporary art featuring paintings, sculptures, photographs, or installations.

The Étang de Kermor lies on the border between Combrit Sainte-Marine and Île-Tudy and is designated as a Special Area of Conservation within the Natura 2000 network.

The Polder de Combrit Sainte-Marine covers just under 350 hectares and is a reservoir of biodiversity.

The Bois de Roscouré has been owned by the Conservatoire du littoral since 1983. It is classified under the French landscape protection law of 2 May 1930.
