Saint-Denoual: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Saint-Denoual combines a significant historical heritage with a distinctive landscape of waterways and forests. The Château de La Guyomarais is particularly noteworthy and is an important part of Saint-Denoual’s historical heritage.

Culture and history

The Croix de la Chapelle calvary cross was erected in 1440 and has been listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments since 1926. The sacristy of the Saint-Denoual church contains a chalice and a paten; both are made of silver and date from 1676–1677.

Opposite the Château de La Guyomarais, a granite stele in three languages – English, Breton and French – commemorates the important role of the Marquis de La Rouërie as a general in the American War of Independence. Every year on January 30, numerous people gather at La Rouërie’s grave to pause for reflection and lay flowers.

Nature and waterways

The Frémur rises on the edge of the Hunaudaye Forest, at the municipal boundary between Quintenic and Saint-Denoual. In Saint-Denoual, it forms a loop. A small part of the Hunaudaye Forest extends into Saint-Denoual in the far south.

The Guinguenoual rises near the Château de La Guyomarais and flows northeast from its source near the château. The two streams that cross Saint-Denoual are of particularly great natural and landscape importance. Dense riverside vegetation along the streams provides a habitat for a rich variety of fauna.

Transport connections

Saint-Denoual is crossed by the RD 768, a busy road connecting Lamballe with the Dinard–Saint-Malo conurbation.
