Kerien: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
To the west, the Blavet borders Kerien, and several tributaries of the Blavet flow through the municipality. This waterscape is complemented by protected natural areas and Breton culture.
Landscape and Nature
The protected Étang du Blavet area (ZNIEFF 530002625) is located in the municipality of Kerien. It features gently sloping, muddy and partly sandy banks, as well as belts of aquatic vegetation. The European otter is regularly found throughout the entire upstream catchment area.
Culture and History
Menhirs bear witness to very early settlement in Kerien. At the same time, the Breton language is still widely spoken in Kerien. The Chapelle Saint-Jean is located in Le Penity in Kerien; the site also includes a calvary cross and two fountains. The calvary cross in the village of Kerlégan in Kerien was listed as a historic monument by decree of 11 June 1964.
Trails
The La Ronde des Calvaires circular trail starts at the car park of the town hall of Kérien and is marked throughout with yellow signs. Also listed is the Circuit trail de Kiriel circular trail, which is 21.15 km long.
