Louargat: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Louargat first reveals itself through its marked trails: a total of 65 kilometres are available. The trails are suitable for hikers, horse riders and mountain bikers, offering different ways to travel through the landscape. One specific example is the Circuit du Menez Hoguene circular trail, an easy 6-kilometre loop with a walking time of around two hours.

Nature and Trails

Geographically, Louargat is located on the RN 12, 14 kilometres west of Guingamp and 20 kilometres from Lannion. The Méné Hoguéné rises to a height of 304 metres in the landscape. The small centaury species Centaurium scilloides grows there and is considered a species of significance for natural history.

Landscape

The Méné Bré also reaches a height of 302 metres. At higher elevations, heathland with European gorse can be found there. The Le Guer river runs along the edge of the forest and offers opportunities for fishing.

Culture and History

The Saint-Jean-Saint-Fiacre Chapel was completed in 1510. Despite having been restored recently, Saint-Jean Chapel retains architectural elements from the 16th and 17th centuries. The Motte of Pen Ar Stang is an artificially raised medieval defensive mound dating from the 10th to the 12th century and is regarded as evidence of a protection system against raiders and other enemies. Louargat is also home to the Church of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
