Plouezec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Plouezec opens up views of the Breton coast: From the Pointe de Bilfot, you can see the Mez Goëlo archipelago and the Ost-Pic lighthouse at the entrance to the Bay of Paimpol. From the Pointe de Minard, the view extends across the Bay of Saint-Brieuc; on a clear day, Cap d’Erquy and Cap Fréhel are also visible.

Coast and nature

The Falaises de Plouézec provide a refuge for two rare bat species: the greater and lesser horseshoe bats. The cliffs reveal sedimentary, volcanic, igneous and metamorphic rocks that originated from geological processes hundreds of millions of years ago.

The coastal route along the cliffs can be explored on foot, by bicycle or by car via several successive stopping points.

Paths and viewpoints

The walk between the Pointe de Bilfot and the Pointe de Minard takes about 45 minutes along the GR® 34. In Plouezec, the Route des falaises leads to the peaks of Bilfot, Berjul and Ménard, offering views of the Bay of Paimpol and the Bréhat archipelago.

The peaks of Bilfot and Minard can be reached via the sentier des douaniers, as well as by car using nearby car parks. As part of the Route des falaises, guided tours of the Moulin à vent de Craca are also offered.

Culture and history

The Chapelle de Paul, also known as the Chapelle de Saint-Paul, in Plouezec was built in the second half of the 16th century by Jean Roquel, Lord of Goasfroment. Every year from the end of June to the end of August, the Les Amis du Moulin de Craca association organises free guided tours and, when the wind turns the mill’s sails, milling demonstrations.

Kito’s sculpture park in Plouezec displays wooden and stone sculptures and can be visited free of charge. Kito’s studio-gallery can be visited by prior appointment. The artist Kito’s “Sculptures en liberté” park is located directly in front of the panorama of the Pointe de Bilfot.

The public gardens at the Moulin à vent de Craca are open all year round.

Ports, beach and tides

Bréhec has a fine sandy beach and a marina shaped by the tides. Bréhec beach has a water sports centre offering activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and sailing. The GR® 34, as well as shops and restaurants, are located in the immediate vicinity of Bréhec beach.

Along the beach and harbour of Port Lazo, oyster beds extend across several dozen hectares; they offer different views at low and high tide. During spring tides, gathering seafood in the intertidal zone around the ports of Port Lazo and Bréhec is cited as a typical local activity.
