Culture and History
The wayside cross of Saint-Leau dates back to the Middle Ages and stands on the site of a former Saint-Leau chapel that was destroyed. The Saint-Pierre parish church was built between 1873 and 1912. The wayside cross of Saint-Rémi dates back to the 17th century, stands on a more recent pedestal, and bears the inscription “saint Rémi”.
The wayside cross of Saint-Armel also tells of a change to the site: it formerly stood at the foot of the washhouse and was re-erected on a modern pedestal in 1988. The village of Saint-Leau in Plumieux is rich in cultural heritage. The Saint-Rémy spring is located there, near the municipal circular trail. The Saint-Leau sundial is about twenty metres from the municipal circular trail, while the Bodeléno wood-fired oven is about one hundred metres away. The wayside cross in the cemetery is listed as protected cultural heritage.
Hiking
The car park between the two football pitches, next to the motorhome parking area, is a suitable starting point for hikes. The municipal hiking network includes the 2.5-kilometre Circuit des Faux (Faô) circular trail. The Guerfro trail can be divided into two circular routes of approximately 7.5 kilometres each and runs along the Guerfro River.
The municipal circular trails pass through the landscapes of Plumieux, which were formerly covered by extensive heathlands between La Ferrière and the Lanouée Forest. The municipal circular trail is marked on posts, trees, and other supports so that hikers can follow the route.
