Ploeuc-sur-Lié: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Plœuc-sur-Lié lies on the edge of the vast Forêt de Lorge; the Lié River drains the area. Between forest, waterways, and historic sites, the townscape reveals itself across several layers of history.

History and Culture

The mills tell the story of different eras. The Moulin Neuf was built around the time of the French Revolution by M. Gorin and ceased operations in 1981 under the management of M. Raulic. A waterwheel remains there; it once powered two pairs of millstones for grinding wheat and oats. The Moulin Gougeon was built around 1700 and ceased operations in 1953. Remains of the waterwheel shaft housing can still be seen there; the hydraulic network and control structures have been completely restored.

The religious and landscape monuments are also important historical reference points. The Chapelle Saint-Just is the last surviving of the numerous chapels in Plœuc-sur-Lié. Historically, the Pardon at the Chapelle Saint-Just took place on the last Sunday in August. La Corbière is one of the historic visitor destinations in Plœuc-sur-Lié; the Moulin de la Corbière lies directly below and downstream of the Étang de la Corbière.

The Menhir de Bayo also stands in Plœuc-L'Hermitage. It dates from between 4000 and 1500 BC, is 6.5 metres high, and was a religious rather than a funerary monument.

Cycling

Mountain Bike Circuit No. 29 runs along paths in the villages of Plœuc-sur-Lié and L'Hermitage-Lorge. It begins at the Espace Henri-Bozec, also known as Côte des Halles. This venue was awarded VTT stadium status in 2019 and features numerous mountain-biking courses, including Breizh London, which incorporates part of the mountain-bike course from the Olympic Games in London. In addition, there are trial and downhill areas adapted to different levels of ability.

Local Traditions

During visits to Patat'As, dedicated volunteers accompany guests with anecdotes, memories, and explanations. Patat'As offers tours covering the local history of potato cultivation, heritage potato varieties, historic agricultural machinery, traditional skills, and themed exhibitions. The collection includes 220 potato varieties.

The local market of Plœuc-L'Hermitage takes place on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Place Louis Morel.
