Culture and History

The Chapelle Saint-Guirec is a 17th-century building that was extended in 1938 and preserves a 15th-century trefoil-arched window. Construction of the Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Clarté began in 1445. The chapel and its enclosing wall are classified as historic monuments.

The Maison du Littoral is also dedicated to the local heritage: it features permanent and temporary exhibitions about the Ploumanac’h area and the Sentier des Douaniers. Trestraou Beach is associated with the development of tourism in Perros-Guirec in the 19th century. This included the fashion for sea bathing, the opening of the first hotel in 1886 and the arrival of the railway in 1906.

Coastline and Paths

The Sentier des Douaniers, also known as GR34, leads through seascapes in Ploumanac’h and to cultural and natural heritage sites. The sentiers de Ploumanac’h form a yellow-marked route recognised by the FFRP, passing through historical and maritime heritage and alongside impressive pink granite formations.

The coastal landscape also includes Trestrignel Beach: the fine-sand beach is bordered by Pointe du Sphinx and Pointe du Château.

Nature and Marine Life

At Saint-Guirec Beach, the rich biodiversity of the intertidal zone can be observed at low tide. From Perros-Guirec, Armor Navigation offers guided boat trips to the Sept-Îles along the Côte de Granit rose. These trips provide historical, geological and ornithological information about the coast.

The trip aboard the Sant C'Hireg cutter includes sailing, taking part in manoeuvres, fishing, observing plankton and exploring the marine environment.

Regional Discoveries

Le Verger de Kernivinen offers a free visit to the cidery. During the visit, the individual stages of apple processing are explained; it ends with a tasting.
