Le Gouray: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
According to tradition, the Chapelle Saint-Roch dates back to the 12th century. It was rebuilt in the 17th century using materials from the 15th century; a gathering takes place at the chapel on 16 August.
History and culture
The Neolithic Allée couverte de l'épine is also known in local legends as “La roche aux fées” and “La table Margot”. It is aligned along a northwest–southeast axis; its four granite tables rest partly on twelve granite pillars and extend over 10.3 metres.
Croquelien is a granite chaos formed by long-term erosion. The legends associated with Croquelien were collected by Paul Sébillot at the end of the 19th century. According to one legend of Croquelien, one of the dolmens contains a silver barrel that can be retrieved only on Easter Day and while maintaining complete silence.
The Château de la Motte-Basse is partially listed as a historic monument. The chapel of the Château de la Motte-Basse houses a painting from 1691 depicting the Annunciation. Originally, the Château de la Motte-Basse was a feudal motte-and-bailey castle that monitored the course of the Arguenon.
Le Gouray's cultural heritage also includes a wash house renovated in 2024 and the Église St-Etienne, renovated in 2021.
