La Prénessaye: Holiday apartments and houses

La Prénessaye reveals different facets within a small thematic area: Pont Querra is home to a canoe and kayak station for nature-based sports, while sacred sites, historic buildings, paths and events come together in Querrien and La Prénessaye.

Culture and history

The chapel of the Notre-Dame de Toute-Aide sanctuary is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Aide Chapel is located in Querrien, in the municipality of La Prénessaye. The Notre-Dame de Toute-Aide sanctuary in Querrien (La Prénessaye) commemorates the Marian apparition witnessed by Jeanne Courtel on 15 August 1652. Following a decision by Bishop Lucien Fruchaud, the sanctuary became a diocesan sanctuary.

The Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Aide Chapel houses a statue of the Virgin and Child bearing the name Notre-Dame de Toute Aide. The ensemble of the two identical side altarpieces each includes two polychrome wooden statues. The southern altarpiece is decorated with statues of Saint Gall and Saint Benedict.

The parish church of Saint John the Baptist also bears witness to different construction periods: it was built between 1848 and 1853 and incorporates a reused west portal from the 15th century. Launay Manor was built in 1717. The cemetery cross in La Prénessaye was made in 1914 by the sculptor Colombel from Langourla. The devotional spring in Querrien is known as the Fontaine Miraculeuse.

At the Pont Querra mill, the millrace is still preserved. The mill served as a paper mill from 1810 to 1824; in 1829, it is documented as a grain mill, and in 1906 it was no longer in operation.

Nature and activities

In the vicinity of Querrien, resources for walks include a nearby state forest suitable for walks and a well-developed greenway. In the vicinity of La Prénessaye, the Loudéac Forest can be explored via the 8.5 km Vau Blanc circular trail. The Vau Blanc walking trail runs along the Lié River.

For climbers, the Moulin du Vicomte climbing area has 14 routes graded from 3 to 7b. The local events calendar is complemented by the traditional Croix Dolo cycling races: in 2026, they reached their 21st edition, with three races scheduled for 12 July. At the Étang des Noës, the local fishing club organizes its traditional fishing competition on Saturday, 16 May, starting at 8:30 a.m.
