Culture and History
A prominent historical landmark in Saint-Igeaux is the Saint-Ignace Church. It is a historic site and monument in Saint-Igeaux. It was built by Nicolas Hural in 1667 and has since fallen into disrepair. The church no longer has a bell tower. The coat of arms of the Correc family is located on the gable of its transept.
Individual furnishings are also protected: The baptismal font and holy water stoup of Saint-Ignace Church were registered as protected objects on January 18, 1982.
The ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Bon-Repos, the ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Coëtmaloën, and Église Saint-Nicolas are located in the vicinity of Saint-Igeaux. The wider regional area also includes the summit of Ménez Fanteu, the Calotte Saint-Joseph hill, and the historic site of Pontivy Castle.
Landscape and Geography
Saint-Igeaux is located a few kilometers from Lac de Guerlédan.
At Gîte la Petite Ferme de Quéhéro in Saint-Igeaux, guests have access to hiking information and a guide to routes along the Nantes–Brest Canal.
Archaeology
The Hellès tumulus is a burial monument from the Copper Age and contained ceramic fragments. An investigation of a settlement from the Late Bronze Age is planned at Kerboar in Saint-Igeaux.
The archaeological depot of Saint-Ygeaux and its archaeological surroundings are considered to be of great interest.
