La Chapelle-Neuve: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In La Chapelle-Neuve, the Centre Forêt-Bocage – Ti ar C’hoadoù is dedicated to environmental education and education about heritage and Breton culture. At the same time, it is an accommodation centre; its activities take place in French and Breton. The Centre welcomes guests year-round for stays, day visits or two-hour visits.

Nature

The Arboretum de Beffou presents a collection of trees from around the world. Its two signposted paths are lined with more than 300 species of trees and shrubs. The Forêt départementale de Beffou is located in the municipalities of La Chapelle-Neuve, Loguivy-Plougras and Lohuec.

Trails

The “Circuit de La Chapelle-Neuve” circular trail is 16 km long, takes one and a half hours and is easy. The “Circuit de la Forêt et du Bocage” circular trail is considerably more demanding: it is 14 km long, takes four hours, is difficult, follows a circular route and is marked in yellow. It passes through woodland, bocage, marshland, meadows and waterways with a diverse range of animal and plant life. Its starting point is at the Centre Forêt Bocage in La Chapelle-Neuve.

There are also designated mountain-bike routes. VTT Station No. 12, “Circuit de la Chapelle Neuve”, is a 15.7 km mountain-bike route of medium difficulty that takes one hour and is marked with VTT station signage. The Forêt départementale de Beffou also has the 10 km mountain-bike route “Sur les hauteurs forestières de Beffou”.

Culture

The Notre-Dame de Pitié church was built by the lords of Kerméno and Botloy-Koathlek. It has a Latin-cross floor plan and comprises a three-bay nave with side aisles, rounded transept arms and a deep choir, whose substructure forms a trefoil-shaped crypt. The Croix de Pen ar Butou dates from 1821.
