The history of Pleudaniel includes the Traou Meur tidal mill. Its surviving mechanisms and its dam were listed as historic monuments in 1987 and classified as such on 30 April 1991.
Culture and History
The present-day building of Pleudaniel’s Saint-Pierre parish church dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and incorporates components from the former church. Several of its elements are listed as historic monuments, including the bell tower and the pulpit. The Croix du Vossec is the oldest and most interesting cross in Pleudaniel and dates from the 17th century.
The artisanal pottery workshop Poterie Lemonnier run by Jean-Yves and Catherine Lemonnier – Jean-Yves Lemonnier’s pottery workshop in Pors Ru in Pleudaniel – is located at 2, Pors Ru, 22740 Pleudaniel. The Chapelle de Goz Iliz is a historic chapel in Camarel in Pleudaniel and has a 16th-century door bearing the coats of arms of the lords of Le Parc. The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Coz-Ilis in Camarel dates from 1716 and stands on the site of an older chapel that was probably built in the 6th century.
Hiking and Cycling
The Boucle de Manaty hike leads from the Boloï Forest to the banks of the Bizien. The Boucle de Manaty is marked in yellow and runs counterclockwise. The Boucle de l'estuaire du Trieux starts at Pleudaniel Town Hall. The Chapelle Saint-Antoine is privately owned.
The Boucle de Pleudaniel cycling circuit starts in Pleudaniel, is 15.9 km long and is suitable for trekking bikes (VTCs) or mountain bikes.
